Corporate Responsibility
As a leading IT aggregator in Australia, we recognise the vital role we play in contributing to a more sustainable future. With our continued growth and evolving operations, we are mindful of the environmental footprint we leave behind.
We are committed to integrating responsible and forward-thinking sustainability practices across our business. This includes reducing waste, optimising packaging efficiency, supporting electronic waste recycling initiatives, and working collaboratively with suppliers who share our values.
Our goal is not only to minimise environmental impact but also to drive meaningful change within our industry. By embedding sustainability into our operations and decision-making processes, we aim to lead by example and help shape a more environmentally conscious IT supply chain for future generations.
Our Goals
Maximise the efficiency of packaging materials across our product range
Increase the use of recycled and renewable content in our packaging
Align with the Sustainable Packaging Guidelines (SPG) or equivalent standards
Responsible recycling of electronic waste through the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme
Work closely with suppliers to improve sustainability outcomes by reusing eco-friendly packaging and prioritising partners with established sustainability policies
Streamline B2B packaging by enabling direct shipments from suppliers to end customers
Synnex is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our packaging through responsible sourcing, design, and disposal practices. We actively collaborate with our suppliers to uphold ethical, environmental, and social standards throughout the supply chain.
Since becoming a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) in October 2010, we have aligned our operations with APCO’s core principles of sustainable packaging.
Our approach to sustainable packaging is embedded in our business practices and guided by our Green Procurement Policy and our APCO Annual Report and Action Plan, and our reporting commitments. These efforts reflect our dedication to building a more sustainable and circular packaging ecosystem.
As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, Synnex is a proud member of the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS). This government-backed initiative enables the responsible collection and recycling of end-of-life televisions, computers, printers, and other IT equipment across Australia.
Through our participation in the NTCRS, we ensure that electronic waste is properly processed, with valuable materials such as plastics, metals, and glass recovered and reused, while hazardous substances like lead, mercury, and cadmium are safely diverted from landfills. This not only reduces the environmental impact of e-waste but also supports a circular economy by encouraging resource recovery and reuse.
Synnex works closely with certified recycling partners to meet compliance standards and ensure that all materials are handled ethically and in accordance with local environmental regulations. Our aim is to provide our partners and customers with a reliable, sustainable solution for IT equipment disposal that aligns with responsible business practices.
Synnex’s Buyback Program is designed to support our partners in managing the full lifecycle of IT hardware, from deployment to responsible end-of-life disposal. Through this program, partners can return eligible used or excess IT devices, helping to recover value, reduce electronic waste, and meet sustainability goals.
We ensure that all returned devices are either securely refurbished for reuse or recycled through certified e-waste processes, in line with environmental regulations and industry best practices. This not only promotes circularity but also helps organisations reduce their environmental footprint while complying with data security and disposal standards.
By participating in the Buyback Program, partners can offer their customers a more sustainable approach to IT asset management and reinforce their commitment to responsible environmental practices.
