Synnex Australia will distribute a new fully rugged 10-inch tablet, the E110, from Getac Technology.

The two companies inked a distribution agreement earlier this month.

Designed specifically for operators working in the public safety, transport, logistics and utility sectors, the touchscreen device includes a 10.1-inch (1366 x 768) HD sunlight-readable display

The thin and light (1.6kg/3.52lbs) unit also offers Lifesupport hot-swappable battery operation.

Getac president, James Hwang, said the device will allow operators to work in the field for extended periods while maintaining seamless connectivity to central operations.

Hwang said the E110 included Getac’s QuadraClear screen technology. The higher colour saturation and a viewing angle of more than 160 degrees ensures excellent visibility out in the field. It was particularly suited to operators requiring an in-vehicle solution.

The unit’s programmable function key can be configured to suit individual operational requirements. The hot-swappable battery ability means that the device will remain operational for 180 seconds whilst users change the battery. This allows the unit’s working hours to be extended without users having to switch off the device and without affecting productivity.

“Getac has built this device to ensure that operators have tablet technology that allows them to maximise their productivity even in the most demanding environments,” Mr Yu said.

“We are proud to offer customers a unique opportunity to view and feel this new device, together with other Getac ranges, at Synnex Alliance Roadshow across Australia,” Mr Yu adds.

The E110 can be seen at Synnex Alliance 2012. Dates are: July 25, 4pm-8pm, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre; August 8, Sydney Showground; August 22, Melbourne Olympic Park.
