Synnex Australia to build fully automated IT logistics centre

Synnex Australia’s long term commitment has stepped into the Ground Breaking phase of the fully automated IT logistics centre. Today, New South Wales State Government, Auburn Council Government, together with other VIPs, project architects, construction partners and consultants are joining Golden Thinking Limited and Synnex Australia Pty Ltd to witness the first step of a new chapter for the IT distribution industry in Australia. A simple but official ground breaking ceremony has been held today, 12th December 2012, at 12.00pm. The new fully automated IT logistic centre is located at 14 Parramatta Road, Lidcombe; which is in Sydney’s Western suburbs near Olympic Park. The total land area is 21,110 square metre; with an office and warehouse area of a total of 10,613 square metre.

The new logistics centre is scheduled to begin operation in October 2013. Kee Ong, CEO of Synnex Australia and New Zealand, remarks, “The support of State and Local Governments strengthen our determination of investing in Sydney’s Western suburbs.” When many technology companies are either cutting costs or delaying projects, Synnex’s continual investment furthers their belief to focus on the fundamentals of distribution.

Mr Ong illustrates, “this investment can enhance our offering of state-of-the art comprehensive logistics infrastructure. In return, all our customers can benefit from our upgraded superior services and knowledgeable support in a higher efficient manner.” In addition, Ong reveals: “to create employment through construction, we have projected that there will be an increase of 100 full time equivalent positions for the next three years.” Through the creation of employment, this project will bring numerous economic benefits to the Western Sydney economy, such as increased spending and stimulation of economic activity.

Ong concludes, “we have increased more than 30% of the budget to over $40 million for this fully automated logistics centre.” This further signifies Synnex’s commitment to provide one of the best experiences and services for their customers while continuing to contribute to the society.
